I have a Question

For those who call themselves Christians, why is it important to read the Bible and pray? Is there a biblical answer as to why I should do this as a believer?

  1. It is important to read the Bible and pray because that is our way of having a conversation with God. When we pray, we are talking to God and telling Him what's going on in our lives. And reading the Bible is like God talking back to us. He reveals Himself to us through the Bible. When we read the Bible, we learn more about God.

  2. I totally agree with you. Now what would you do if someone wanted biblical backing to your answer?

  3. David said "Your word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against you." Psalm 119;11 Sins what sent his son to the cross..
Also, Joshua 1:8 ‘This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth , but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous and then you will have good success’

  4. Follow up question:

Did the writers of the scripture realize their literature would be compiled into a single book called the Bible?
